San Diego, which is known for it’s great climate, has been giving it’s citizens some surprising weather these past few weeks. First we had a four day heat wave. Then the heat was enhanced by a dose of Monsoonal Humidity. Then it was followed by an unexpected summer storm.

The storm caught America’s Finest city off guard. Strong winds caused property damage in various neighborhoods.  News stations reported on the devistation by showing footage of the aftermath. Click here to see the Summer Storm News Coverage

As San Diegans begin the cleanup, more stories and video footage of the storm continue to appear in the news and in Social Media. If you don’t believe me take a look at you facebook page. If you live in San Diego it’s likely you will see video footage of the storm in the News Feed.

To keep up with current events we thought it would be a good idea to share our experience with the Summer Storm.  Take a look at the video at the bottom of the page. It is footage of the devastation at a small airplane runway in El Cajon.

You will notice that a majority of the structures were uprooted and tipped over by the storm. It’s strange to see poles with concrete slabs laying upside down. Even stranger is the small shed. It too was tipped over by the strong winds. When it toppled over it exposed more than the tools inside. It exposed a live bee hive that was once underneath the floor.

Now normally if we were to remove a hive from the floor of a shed we would have to cut open the floor to expose the hive and scrape it out. Not this time. Mother Nature flipped the shed for easy access to the hive. The bees from this hive were relocated to the bee clinic which was thankfully unaffected by the Summer storm.
