So a funny thing happened the other day. I was sitting at work, answering the phones at Bee Best Bee Removal. Suddenly I got a post notification from our Facebook business page. The message read “Thank you for supporting our First lady”. Huh? I wasn’t sure what to make of that. Confused , I immediately did a google search and discovered that May 7th is now officially “Be Best” day.
At first when I read the post I was totally confused. Was the person posting being sarcastic? Was he implying that we were not supportive of the first lady? The thought crossed my mind because we, as a corporation and a business, always try to stay out of politics. Democrat, Republican, etc…it’s all good. Some may suggest we are dodging political issues, and that’s true. But trust me, the last thing we want to hear at the office is the owner and his wife disagree about yet another political issue. Long story short, we now have a political free zone in the office. It’s just easier that way folks.
Anyway, the discovery of this new political campaign has us talking in the office. How will this new platform impact our business? What if the “Be Best” campaign becomes as popular as the “Just say no” campaign from the 80’s? Will it affect our ranking on Google? Will people have trouble finding our business online? Luckily for us, we have an SEO expert who explained the possible ramifications for us.
Because we have that extra (e) at the end of our Be, traditional keyboard searches will likely not be affected. Where it becomes an issue is when a person does a voice activated search. For those who don’t know, a voice activated search would go something like this: “Alexa, call Bee Best” or “Ok Google, find Bee Best” or lastly, “Hey Siri, find the Bee Best website”.
So how will this all play out in the coming months and years? Right now, most everyone who lives in San Diego, who sends a voice activated query, will likely find our company information pretty easily. But depending on the success of her new platform, Melania Trump’s campaign may outrank us in the future. Time will tell.
Oh by the way…before you ask…we here at Bee Best Bee Removal are definitely against Bullying. We mention this because we have already had our wisecracking friends ask us where we stand on the issue!
