Like a video game, removing a bee hive can be fun and challenging. Every job is different and so is the complexity depending on how hard the hive is to reach and how aggressive the bees are. Recently while editing footage of a live swarm removal, I noticed that one of the clips reminded me of a first person video game. You see, whenever we film a bee removal, it is done using a chest mounted GoPro camera. What normally only our technicians experience is now made available on video for all to enjoy. One recent clip in particular got me thinking. What about a bee removal video game? I brought the idea up with the owner who liked the idea and said we should turn the video clip into a clip of a video game.
Ideally it would be great to make an actual video game. I imagine it would have levels that increase in complexity. The mission of each level would be to remove swarms and hives in order to save the bees. Any programmers out there that can make this a reality? If so give us a call!
Until then we thought it would be fun to present our newest video creation. Think of it as level one of the game. The technicians goal is to collect the swarm on the ceiling of an abandoned house under construction. In order to remove the swarm the technician will need to find the swarm, find a ladder, and remove the cluster using a bee brush and a hive box. At the end if he is successful the bee whisperer will do a dance that will hopefully entice you to subscribe to our YouTube channel. We hope you enjoy the video as much as we enjoyed making it.
