It’s Autumn and Halloween is just around the corner, but that doesn’t mean the bees have gone away! In fact a very large Queen Bee was spotted the other day at Petco store #1110 in La Mesa. Her name is Brizzy the Queen Bee. She was accompanied by her Beekeeper/Handler Jeff “The Bee Whisperer’ Lutz. She was there for The Halloween Pet Costume Contest.
The competition was stiff at the Halloween costume contest. Brizzy wore a jeweled necklace so judges would know she was not a worker bee…but a Queen. In addition to Brizzy there was Orley the Pumpkin, Copper and his stagecoach. a ladybug, members of the royal family, and Ringo and Marley the biking dogs. Cuteness was definitely in the air!
All of the contestants had a great time and all went home with a prize…a doggie gift bag courtesy of Petco. Much to our delight, Brizzy the Queen Bee actually won 2nd place. Copper the Stagecoach took 1st prize for her super creative and unique custom costume design. A sweet little Ladybug came in 3rd. A great time was had by all and all the dogs were true champions!
