Medium sized swarm in tree with yellow flowers

This small to average sized bee swarm was hanging low to the ground. This kind of swarm will usually leave within 2 or 3 days due to it's exposure to the elements and it was hanging off a flimsy branch. The property owners wanted it removed quickly due for the safety of people walking by.

Bee Swarm inside a thick tree on a sunny day

This small swarm was tucked in a tree that had thick branches and would have likely built a hive here within a couple of weeks. There was no need to cut the tree to remove the bees. We quickly moved them to a Nuc box and transported them to an apiary.

Bee Swarm hanging from Metal Girder on Construction site

Bees love to find a place that will support their hive. Metal girders can be one of those places. At the 32nd Street Naval base in San Diego this swarm consisting of around 3,000 bees decided to hangout here for a couple of days. The Navy crew at this site didn't want to disturb them [...]
